There is a communication problem in this thread and I am sorry that I have not been able to communicate the problem thoroughly. However I think you'll find the Latitude D620 and Roxio v10.x are in the same date range. It is AUDIO that I have the problem with. That that's the VIDEO capture device and I noted I have no problem recording video. Why should i "Go to X10 and see if they have other drivers." I can't have it installed on both the ASUS and on the Latitude as that would be a license violation and I have to uninstall it. The test on the ASUS was just that, a test. I must conclude the problem is is with the Roxio software and the SigmaTel chip-set.

"Media Import" is sub-component or sub-program of of Roxio Premier v10.2.īOTH the Windows XP and Vista/32 drivers are the latest off the Dell Support web site. Edited Novemby sknisĪ picture is worth a thousand words. Again, Dell may have modified the program so the list may not be accurate. They did have a list of compatible devices here. Go there for help because that is the licensing agreement between Dell and Roxio.īTW, your program is an OEM version of a very old Roxio program. Since you paid little or nothing for the Dell OEM, they are responsible for how the program works or doesn't work. Please, not rants about Roxio not having drivers for every device out here.

Have you tried capturing via Windows Movie Maker? That sometimes works when others do not. Go to X10 and see if they have other drivers. That is why you are getting two different displays. In the first image, you are capturing with the ATI device in the second, that other thing. Apparently the audio driver for that device is not. That X10 VA12A device must have drivers compatible with the operating system, the program, the application, and with your audio device. Rather than ranting, why did you just say you were using "Media Import"? That is the application or what ever you want to call it.

Under WinXP Pro SP3 I got the SAME results as shown in the second attached JPEG.
I swapped my Vista Business hard disk for a Windows XP Pro. It shows NO audio device and I can't select anything either. The second attached JPEG is for the Dell Latitude. The first attached JPEG is for the ASUS PC. Now in THIS PC when I go to "Options" I have for Device "C-Media" and Input "Line In". I just installed it on my my desktop ( test only as I do NOT have two licenses and I intend to uninstall Tonight) which is a home-built ASUS system with Windows XP Professional. When I choose "Options", "Device" doesn't show the SigmaTel (actually no choice available) and under "Input" I can't choose "Line In" (actually no choice available)." I went on and stated "On audio, can't capture sound. I can capture video with no problem but there is NO audio. I already also stated the video capture device is the X10 VA12A. To me, there is NO difference between calling Roxio Premier 10.2 an "application" or a "program." What device are you using to capture the video and are you using the same device to capture the audio? Now what is the application? Once you open whatever you are opening, look to the upper left and tell us what the application is named or just tell us what you are clicking on to open the application.
